Relief camps established for 25 families who lost their homes due to landslides in Kandepuhulpola Division, Welimada Divisional Secretariat
The Welimada Divisional Secretary and the staff of the Divisional Secretariat began the new year 2026 with religious rituals and the drinking of milk. Here, a Pirith sermon was held to remember the war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country and our own people who lost their lives due to the disaster, and to seek blessings from all the people.
The main resource contribution for this was made by the veteran song critic Thushara Hettiarachchi Kividun. The Divisional Secretary, Assistant Divisional Secretary, Assistant Planning Director, Accountant, Administrative Officer, Administrative Gramadhari, Grama Niladhari, Development Officers, Field Officers, Management Service Officers and Samurdhi Development Officers participated in this program.
Fifteen respected Maha Sangha members were invited to the office, offered alms and other alms with eight auspicious rituals, received alms and blessings, and finally had the opportunity to listen to a melodious Dhamma sermon.
A large group of senior citizen members of the Elders' Council as well as officers of the office participated in this event.
