Inauguration of Welimada New Court Complex
The opening of the newly built Welimada Court Complex with the aim of making the role of justice more efficient was presided over by His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the participation of distinguished ministers and government officials on 03.11.2023.The opening of the newly built Welimada Court Complex with the aim of making the role of justice more efficient was presided over by His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the participation of distinguished ministers and government officials on 03.11.2023.460 million rupees have been spent on this three-storied court complex, which has been built with all common facilities including a district court, a magistrate court, office facilities, to facilitate the judicial affairs of the people of Welimada area.Minister of Judicial Affairs and Constitutional Reform Mr. President's Attorney Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Ministers of State Mr. Anuradha Jayaratne, Mr. Thenuka Vidanagamage, Mr. Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, Mr. Aravinda Kumar, Member of Parliament Sudarshan Dapitiya Political authority including Mr. Uva Provincial Governor A.J.M.L. Mr. Muzammil, Chief Justice Mr. Jayantha Jayasuriya, High Court Judges, District Court Judges and Magistrate Court Judges, Badulla District Secretary Mr. Panduka Sri Prabhat Abeywardena, Welimada Divisional Secretary Mr. W.M.C. Weerasinghe and a group of lawyers including the president of Welimada Bar Association. attended the event.
